Tips for the Week!

Did you know that custom pages now support the addition of a few standard widgets?

Based on your feedback, we've increased the selection of widgets available to use when designing custom pages. The following widgets have been made available for custom pages:
  • Site Pages
  • Bulletins
  • Speakers
  • Mini Calendar
  • Meeting Information
  • President's Message
  • Upcoming Events
Custom pages are stand-alone pages in Version 3.0, that can be linked to from the menu or any links widget. The content and layout of custom pages can be designed just like your homepage. For assistance on creating a custom page, refer to our help article.

Did you know you can customize the "Request Member Updates" email template?

Over the past few weeks, we've received a lot of requests from customers who wanted the ability to be able to customize the text in the 'Request Member Updates' email template. Customers now have the capability of customizing the text and saving their changes.

On the Request Member Update screen, you will notice a link on the top prompting you to 'click to modify the message'. Clicking on this option will allow you to modify the email template. Once you save it, the modified email will become the new template and will be used for each request. Of course, you always have the option of reverting back to the default template.

If you have some feedback or suggestions on what you'd like to see implemented into the ClubRunner system, please feel free to email us at feedback@clubrunner.ca.

Tips for the Week!

Did you know that you can now directly add an image into the editor for your stories, widgets and more?

You asked for it and we provided! Customers using Version 3.0, we've made it even easier to add images to your website. Apart from adding images from the image library to your website, we've added two new ways to do the same.

You can now directly add an image into the editor of your stories or custom widgets by either dragging the image directly from your computer into the editor or by clicking on the new "Add as Image" button found in the menu.  When this button is clicked, it opens a window directly to your computer to select the images/item you want. Once added (whether through drag and drop or through the add image button), the image automatically gets saved to your image library.

Did you know that you can now schedule your bulletin to send your bulletin to your recipients at a later date and time?

That's right! Similar to the functionality in the email message center, you can now schedule a date and time to send your bulletin to your recipients. If you'd like to make any changes to your bulletin prior to sending it, you can always cancel the send and reschedule it to include your changes. The 'Send History' screen will display the date and time the bulletin was sent, and this is also where you will be able to cancel the send, if it needs to be stopped. Kindly note, once the bulletin has left the queue and has been sent, it cannot be stopped or recalled.

There are still a lot of exciting updates coming your way! If you have a suggestion or feature request you would like implemented, please don't hesitate to contact our support team. If your club or district has not switched to Version 3.0 yet, please refer to our help instructions on how to make the switch.

Tips for the Week!

Customers using Version 3.0, did you know you can now sort the list of stories, speakers and download files on your website?

We've recently introduced a sorting function which allows you to sort the list of stories, speakers and download files based on headings in ascending or descending order on your website.
  • Your list of stories can be sorted by Title, Author or Date.
  • Your list of speakers can be sorted by Name, Topic or Date.
  • Your list of download files can be sorted by Download File Name.
To sort, simply click on any of the headings.

Did you know that you can filter out inactive members when adding a payment entry or making a credit/debit adjustment in the Dues and Billing module?

That's right! A very popular request, now when adding a payment entry or making a credit/debit adjustment, users can filter our inactive members from the member list. You will see an option with a checkbox next to the select member field. By unchecking "Show Inactive", you will only see a list of active members. Selecting this option will also show inactive members in the list of members.

As always, should you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact our dedicated support team.

Tip of the Week - Embedding a PayPal Button on Your Site

Did you know that if you're using Version 3.0, you can embed a PayPal button directly on your site?

While most clubs prefer to collect donations and accept credit card payments using our Online Payment and eCommerce module, we often get requests from clubs with a PayPal account looking for a way to embed PayPal buttons on their site.

To add this button to your website, you will need to first acquire a ClubRunner friendly embed code which is provided by PayPal. Once you get the embed code, you simply need to click on the Embed Media button on your website editor and paste the code in - it's that easy! The following article on our knowledgebase provides step by step instructions on accomplishing this: How to Embed a PayPal Button in Version 3.0

Once the button has been embedded, all website visitors will see a box similar to the one pictured on the left.

This is only one of the many ways you can further customize your Version 3.0 website. We have many more tips coming soon!
