Tips for the Week!

Introducing the Website Designer 3.0 Help Tour!

Upon logging into your website, webmasters will notice a new interactive tour option to learn more about Website Designer 3.0. An easy way to learn more about the Website Designer in Version 3.0, this tour covers each section and goes over every element found in the Designer screen. The tour starts off by covering general items, such as how to change your website layout, banner and footer. It moves on to then cover how to add widgets, the options available to you and more. Finally, the tour concludes by going over how to view your changes and then publish them.

You have the option to open the tour at any time, by clicking on the  "Start Tour" button, which will appear on the top right of the Website Designer screen, upon clicking on 'Edit Content'.

Did you know you can now easily share the content on your website on various social media channels?

You asked for it, and we delivered! Upon adding a new entry onto your website, you will notice a social share toolbar appear at the bottom of the page, which will allow your website visitors to share the content on that page on various social media channels. The social share toolbar currently appears on the following pages:
  • Story Pages
  • Event Details Page
  • Speaker Details Page
  • Site Page
  • News Detail Page
  • Photo Album Page
Therefore, for every new story, event, speaker, site page, news or photo album that you add, the social share toolbar will automatically appear on those pages. To add the toolbar to existing pages, you would simply need to republish them. This toolbar, will allow visitors to share your website content on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google +, Blogger, Pinterest and via email.

These are just a few of the exciting updates we've made but there's still a lot more coming your way. Stay tuned! Have some feedback on features you would like to see in ClubRunner? Please don't hesitate to email us at feedback@clubrunner.ca.

Tips for the Week!

Did you know that custom pages now support the addition of a few standard widgets?

Based on your feedback, we've increased the selection of widgets available to use when designing custom pages. The following widgets have been made available for custom pages:
  • Site Pages
  • Bulletins
  • Speakers
  • Mini Calendar
  • Meeting Information
  • President's Message
  • Upcoming Events
Custom pages are stand-alone pages in Version 3.0, that can be linked to from the menu or any links widget. The content and layout of custom pages can be designed just like your homepage. For assistance on creating a custom page, refer to our help article.

Did you know you can customize the "Request Member Updates" email template?

Over the past few weeks, we've received a lot of requests from customers who wanted the ability to be able to customize the text in the 'Request Member Updates' email template. Customers now have the capability of customizing the text and saving their changes.

On the Request Member Update screen, you will notice a link on the top prompting you to 'click to modify the message'. Clicking on this option will allow you to modify the email template. Once you save it, the modified email will become the new template and will be used for each request. Of course, you always have the option of reverting back to the default template.

If you have some feedback or suggestions on what you'd like to see implemented into the ClubRunner system, please feel free to email us at feedback@clubrunner.ca.

Tips for the Week!

Did you know that you can now directly add an image into the editor for your stories, widgets and more?

You asked for it and we provided! Customers using Version 3.0, we've made it even easier to add images to your website. Apart from adding images from the image library to your website, we've added two new ways to do the same.

You can now directly add an image into the editor of your stories or custom widgets by either dragging the image directly from your computer into the editor or by clicking on the new "Add as Image" button found in the menu.  When this button is clicked, it opens a window directly to your computer to select the images/item you want. Once added (whether through drag and drop or through the add image button), the image automatically gets saved to your image library.

Did you know that you can now schedule your bulletin to send your bulletin to your recipients at a later date and time?

That's right! Similar to the functionality in the email message center, you can now schedule a date and time to send your bulletin to your recipients. If you'd like to make any changes to your bulletin prior to sending it, you can always cancel the send and reschedule it to include your changes. The 'Send History' screen will display the date and time the bulletin was sent, and this is also where you will be able to cancel the send, if it needs to be stopped. Kindly note, once the bulletin has left the queue and has been sent, it cannot be stopped or recalled.

There are still a lot of exciting updates coming your way! If you have a suggestion or feature request you would like implemented, please don't hesitate to contact our support team. If your club or district has not switched to Version 3.0 yet, please refer to our help instructions on how to make the switch.

Tips for the Week!

Customers using Version 3.0, did you know you can now sort the list of stories, speakers and download files on your website?

We've recently introduced a sorting function which allows you to sort the list of stories, speakers and download files based on headings in ascending or descending order on your website.
  • Your list of stories can be sorted by Title, Author or Date.
  • Your list of speakers can be sorted by Name, Topic or Date.
  • Your list of download files can be sorted by Download File Name.
To sort, simply click on any of the headings.

Did you know that you can filter out inactive members when adding a payment entry or making a credit/debit adjustment in the Dues and Billing module?

That's right! A very popular request, now when adding a payment entry or making a credit/debit adjustment, users can filter our inactive members from the member list. You will see an option with a checkbox next to the select member field. By unchecking "Show Inactive", you will only see a list of active members. Selecting this option will also show inactive members in the list of members.

As always, should you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact our dedicated support team.

Tip of the Week - Embedding a PayPal Button on Your Site

Did you know that if you're using Version 3.0, you can embed a PayPal button directly on your site?

While most clubs prefer to collect donations and accept credit card payments using our Online Payment and eCommerce module, we often get requests from clubs with a PayPal account looking for a way to embed PayPal buttons on their site.

To add this button to your website, you will need to first acquire a ClubRunner friendly embed code which is provided by PayPal. Once you get the embed code, you simply need to click on the Embed Media button on your website editor and paste the code in - it's that easy! The following article on our knowledgebase provides step by step instructions on accomplishing this: How to Embed a PayPal Button in Version 3.0

Once the button has been embedded, all website visitors will see a box similar to the one pictured on the left.

This is only one of the many ways you can further customize your Version 3.0 website. We have many more tips coming soon!

Tips for the Week!

Did you know that you can now hide old invoices from previous Rotary years within the Dues and Billing module?

Treasurers now have the ability to hide the invoices from the previous Rotary year to declutter and start with a clean screen every year. Upon landing on the Billing home page, you will notice a new link next to  "Create New Bill" called "Hide Old Bills". Clicking on this will automatically hide all previous bills (whether open or closed) from the previous Rotary years. Clicking on "Show All Bills" will then list everything for you to view again.

Did you know you can customize your story titles using HTML tags?

A popular request from our advanced users, we've now added the ability to add HTML tags to the titles of Stories, Photo Albums and Site Pages. Simply add the HTML tags in the title field itself to customize the look and feel of your titles. As well, we're happy to inform you that Site Pages now support special characters in the title name as well!

Did you know that registrants can now modify their registrations from additional places apart from the link in their confirmation email?

In addition to the confirmation email that the registrant receives which includes the link to modify their event registration details, members can now also access their event registrations in order to modify and review their registrations from the following sections:

1) My Commitments link found on the Admin Page
2) The Commitments tab, found in the Edit My Profile Section
3) Member Commitments found in the Club Bulletin

These are just a few updates we've made based on your feedback. We'd like to thank you for all of your suggestions and feedback over this past year. There are still a lot of excellent suggestions we're working on implementing into the system - stay tuned!

Tip of the Week!

Did you know that you can now select and send your bulletin to specific users in the club?

Clubs using Version 3.0 will now be able to select specific members from the list of recipients to send the bulletin to, if they wish. You still have the option to send to the various groups as well, however now upon landing on the 'Send Bulletin page', you will see an 'expand list' button next to each group. Clicking on expand list will open a window which will display all the members within that group. You even have a search function within that window, where you can begin typing the recipients name as well.

Simply select which bulletin edition you'd like to send, add the subject line and select your recipients!

A very popular request, this is just our way of making ClubRunner a custom solution that is easy to use. There's still a lot more in the pipeline, as our team works hard to implement all the suggestions we receive in our customer wish list.

If you would like to provide us with feedback on the Version 3.0 bulletin module or have suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact us at feedback@clubrunner.ca.

Tips for the Week!

Did you know that you can now set the speed and timing of the transitions of your photo album slideshows?

A very popular request, if you're using Version 3.0, you now have the ability to set the speed and timing of the transitions of your slideshows! In fact, there are seven new transition effects to choose from including effects such as fade, carousel right, carousel left, etc.

To apply these settings, click on the Edit link under the Actions column within the Photo Album Library page for the album you want to edit. Here, under the Slide Show Settings section, you will see all the options for you to customize. Once done, simply save your changes.

District Grants Module Users, did you know that we have updated the Financial Summary Report to display transactions not associated with any projects as well?

We've been receiving a lot of feedback about our Grants module and over the next few weeks will be implementing many of the suggestions received. In fact, we've just updated the Financial Summary Report based on your feedback to include transaction information not associated with any projects. These transactions can be associated with bank deposits, administrative tasks, etc and will be accessible from the section labeled "General Transactions".

Please do continue sending us your feedback at feedback@clubrunner.ca.
